LOMBARD COURT

Irvine, California

The objective of this community was to create a building to street relationship for a high density program that echoes the heritage of courtyard housing in the Southern California area.

The buildings are designed to surround the courtyard and present front doors to the street as well as to the courtyard. The massing of the building breaks down to a human scale at the street. Each building has two units that are fully accessible and “visitable” at the first floor.

A dramatic collection of Spanish and formal Italian architectural styles grace the exterior of these attached courtyard townhomes, ranging from 1,068 to 1,635 square feet with up to three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Each residence opens onto a spacious central courtyard of shade trees and relaxing benches. It is like an inner sanctuary where all generations feel welcome to mingle and where an outdoor fireplace keeps friendships warm. A sense of belonging defines the lifestyle at this new collection of classic California townhomes and condominiums.

This 150 unit program appeals to an array of lifestyles. Each plan has a two-car garage with direct access into the home.
